In this video, Fraser Jack shares his top 3 tips for how your team can work safer and better protect your client information.
When it comes to cybersecurity, there are three main ways that you and your team are exposing your business to hackers.
Problem 1: Sending important documents over email.
Sending client documents by email may be convenient, but it is a surefire way for these sensitive and important documents to be leaked or exposed to hackers.
The solution: If you do have to send documents over email, password protect them and send the password to the clients via another means (like SMS).
Problem 2: Passwords
Weak passwords, password sharing and not using multi-factor authentication can expose your business to hackers.
The solution: Use long and difficult passwords. Try using a password manager so you don’t have to remember them all, and safe sharing can occur (if necessary).
Problem 3: Working from home
Home routers and security can be a significant risk to your business.
The solution: Try a separate way to connect to the internet for work devices. Avoid connecting work devices to smart devices that have low security, like speakers and TVs.
Your tech setup is only as strong as your weakest link. Make sure your team is doing all they can to ensure your firm’s security game is strong.
